In order to save money on Sunday I always buy three papers and cut cut cut those coupons!..I look for the sales locally and shop at Kroger where they double the coupons up to one dollar!..If I don't have a coupon for something I buy the cheap brand(to save money)---with two boys at home and one income-every little bit of money saving ideas surely help this stay at home mom!!!..BTW Thanks for offering such a great contest!!
ReplyDeleteit didn't put my name on my comment!..But its Robyn Walls!..(R)
ReplyDeleteSince I live alone, it usually doesn't do me any good to shop at the "warehouse" stores. BUT, my daughter and I now shop together and share the costs of a lot of the things we buy, such as multiples of salad dressing, oils, etc.

I am your fan on Facebook!!!
ReplyDeleteThe way I save money the most is by contacting companies I use most often and asking for coupons for their products, that way, even if they don't do coupons in the paper I still save money. Many products rarely (if ever) give out coupons in the Sunday papers, mailouts, things like that, but they do have samples and coupons they will send to people who request them directly!!
ReplyDeleteCoupons are a great way to save not only get them from the paper but online as well and load them onto your rewards cards. Find creative places to store the great deals so that you can really maximize the savings. (I use under my bed quite often.)
ReplyDeleteIn addition you can cook once, eat twice. Most recipes can be easily doubled and half stored in the freezer for another night when you want the night off or just don't have time to cook.
Cut dryer sheets in half and double the uses in the box and wash everything you can in cold water.
I can go on and on and on lol

Well, I am not a mom nor a wife (yet), but I have been trying to help my family out by saving money and I make my own cleaners that are safe around pets and children. Here is the recipe:
ReplyDeleteGeneral Cleaner:
1 tbsp. Borax powder
3 tbsps. White Vinegar
2 c. HOT Water
1 tbsp. Dish Soap
1 drop of essential oil (optional for fragrance)
*Pour into spray bottle and shake; then it is ready to use. This cleaner degreases and kills bacteria.

BUy on sale and with a coupon. I have four kids so every little bit helps. I never pay retail for any of our clothing!
ReplyDeleteIf the first 5 numbers on the barcode of a coupon match a product's first 5, then you can use that coupon. Example....baby wipes, you can sometimes get the travel size instead of the refill bags because the barcodes are done in groups. Some stores won't allow it, but I have called companies several times and they say its true, but each store is self contained. Also, I thought when I started coupons that I had to buy every deal I saw. I was wasting a lot of time and money on products I didn't use, now I just do that if it literally pays me to get it. Only get what your family will need! Misty
ReplyDeleteI plan dinners according to what is on sale and what I have coupons for, and then I make multiples of each dish and put at least one in the freezer. I also am your fan on FB.
ReplyDeleteI cut out coupons for stuff that I know I need and sometimes I find several coupons of the same item in the paper and use them. I also try to recycle bottles, cans, and paper products. I liked your facebook page also.

I make my own laundy detergent. It works realy well, and it is so cheap! I wash at least 2 loads every day and for the month, I spend less than 2 dollars on detergent per month.
ReplyDelete-Grate 1 bar of Fels Naptha soap and boil it in a gallon of water until melted and blended.
-Get a 10 gallon bucket and fill with 8 gallons of hot water,
- Stir in 1/2 cup of Borax, and 1/2 cup of Washing Soda
- Add the pot of Fels Naptha and stir it up.
- Tada that's it!

I love coupons and I love to save $$$
ReplyDeleteI shop at the warehouse stores and I buy my meats and frozen veggies cheaper in larger quantity. I seperate it into smaller portion sizes, and put it in freezer bags and freeze.
This time of year garage sales are a huge plus. You never know what you'll find! Especially if you have young children they are a great place to buy gently used toys, clothing and baby furniture.
I could go on and on about ways I save. Some of them, people have already been mentioned.
I love coupons...but am quite terrible at figuring out deals while sorting through sale ads and tons of coupons. So I follow hip2save.com where she does all of that work for me. Such a help. :-) Oh and barcode matching (as was mentioned earlier) is quite unethical, and you can get in serious trouble for that. So be sure to follow the "rules" of the coupons.
ReplyDeleteI also liked your facebook. :)
I also liked your facebook page. I left a money saving tip last week.
ReplyDeleteI sign up for any freebies that I can find. I have gotten a ton of useful stuff in the mail. It really takes no time at all. Alot of time, I'll do it while I'm watching tv at night. :)
ReplyDeleteI also am a "liker" of your page. :)
ReplyDeleteI am also a big fan of extreme couponing!...I search all the saving sites (hip2save, and dealsavingmoms are 2 of my favs) I clip coupons, and swap with friends, and like pages on facebook to get coupons and free samples. With one income and 3 boys, every penny counts. A penny saved is a penny earned =)
ReplyDeleteI am also a fan (like) your page =)
ReplyDeleteI'm Amandas aunt and I also like your page. I was just wondering if you were going to post who who won the tote.
ReplyDeleteSo who won this fun contest?? I missed the announcement!
